February Project Spotlight | Short and sweet

This month we’re focussing our lens on short film projects. These films are exploring uniquely human stories in bite sized chunks of 20 minutes and under.

UNCLE is a short documentary about the extraordinary life of Uncle Jason Coombes. The film recounts his journey from the remote community of Aurukun to Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust to care for his mother, reckoning with his past to find personhood as a man who walks in many worlds.

Donations will help the team to edit, colour grade, sound design and score the film.

DRAGGING THE CHAIN is a 15 minute film following a young woman who finds herself trapped at an isolated truck stop with two strange men, forcing her to confront her past and the life she’s left behind before it’s too late.

Donations will support costuming, location accommodation, studio hire, sets and equipment hire.

Tag! is a 12 minute window into the lives of two 20-somethings going out on a first date. Set in the present with a retro twist, Tag! acts as a statement on natural human dating practices, encounters, and experiences to contest current digital online dating.

Funds will directly support equipment hire, location fees, and catering.
