As the calendar year draws to a close, we’re picking up the tempo and are celebrating projects that are bringing communities together through song. These choirs are providing a safe and inclusive space for people to participate in the artform, perform with others, and express themselves through song.
The Margaret Pride Scholarship Fund, aims to provide choral scholarships and performance opportunities to promising young WA singers each year. Beyond the benefits of making beautiful music together, the Chorus and Scholars benefit alike from the intergenerational connection and having a safe, semi-professional standard rehearsal and performance space to learn in.
Donations will be used to fund the scholar positions.
VoiceworksPLUS is a choir and performing arts group which fosters the talents of people living with disabilities. The program teaches acting, singing and movement techniques which help to build self-confidence and develop communication skills.
Donations will be used to cover expenses associated with rehearsals and performances including program development, a Musical Director; an Artistic Director; Choreographer; costumes; venue hire; and publicity.
For fifteen years, the Festival Statesmen Chorus has been a source of vibrancy in South Australia’s music scene, and now they are ready to go global. The group are currently fundraising to get to New Zealand in 2024 and compete in the World Choir Games. They are also hoping to raise funds to expand, perform, and foster artistic growth.
Donations will go towards operational and touring costs for 2024.
