November Project Spotlight | For the love of literature

This month there is lots to love as we celebrate the art of the written word. These creators are fostering supportive environments for writers, launching educational picture books for children, and inspiring the creation and discussion of literary works.

‘Berry Writers Festival’ is a biennial festival with three days of talks, discussions and more, taking place in the NSW town of Berry. The festival will offer performance, workshops and masterclasses to encourage those interested in developing their talents or simply learning more on a range of topics.

Donations will assist with the upfront costs of author and speaker travel and accommodation, marketing, venue hire and management, insurances and other professional support.

‘There’s An Alphabet On Your Head’ is the new book from Wendy’s Window Books. This children’s picture/story book is designed to promote a love of reading, enrich children’s vocabulary, inspire imaginations and delight senses. A classroom teachers’ resource guide to accompany the book for teachers to pursue possibilities for language, arts and drama activities will also be created.

Donations will be used to create the remaining illustrations and hire a graphic designer.

Since 2021, InReview has been publishing free professional arts and culture journalism online for everyone, with expert arts writers celebrating, examining and amplifying arts and culture in South Australia. The project is mentoring the next generation of arts critics, with emerging writers working closely with experienced reviewers to develop their skills.

Donations will go towards the operational costs of running the online platform.
