June Project Spotlight | Print & Publishing

This month we’re looking at projects that celebrate pen and page through a multitude of mediums. From magazines, to photo books and contemporary literature, these creators are weaving narratives to interrogate who we are and spark conversation.

Since 2017, Liminal have published an expansive archive of interviews with Asian Australian artists; ten series of art and writing by artists of colour; and two critically-acclaimed anthologies featuring work by Indigenous writers and writers of colour.

Donations will be used to ensure the future of Liminal and to assist with paying artists and writers of colour equitably.

To commemorate the Ballarat Foto Biennale, Australian-American photomedia artist Jon Setter has endeavoured to create a catalogue of images shot in Ballarat with the book release coinciding with the opening of the Biennale.

Donations will be used to produce the book, with the amount of funds raised determining what can be achieved in the production process.

{System Updates}, by experimental multi-disciplinary artist Josie Alexandra, is an experimental epic, recounting a journey of intra-relational and internal transitions whilst exploring ideas of how one may inhabit and {re}claim a neurodiverse and trans subjecthood.

Donations will assist with creative development and to send the completed manuscript to industry professionals for review and feedback.
