Masculine and feminine energy are the driving force of creation that exists in all beings, mind states and physical conditions. Women Of The Wild is a dedication to Mother Nature, the rise of the Divine Feminine and restoring balance.
A predominance of masculine energy has manifested in many ways, including rampant corporate greed, consumerism and economic gain at the expense of our natural world. My aim is to raise awareness of the power we each have within, inspire others to reconnect with their feminine energy, and ultimately break free from the conditioning and social constructs that have led us here.
A disconnect from our higher self is the basis for the disharmony we are currently experiencing in both our inner and outer worlds. We will not protect or respect what we do not value. Sadly, most have lost the ability to see the depth and value in themselves, the infinite connection that exists between each human being and furthermore the permeable connection between all humans and Mother Earth.
I hope to spread this message to the mainstream world through art. To me, nudity is a symbol of liberation from the shame too often associated with our naked body, as well as the insecurities created from constant images of ‘perfection’ portrayed to us through media. I believe it is most important to start healing our women first, and my goal is to photograph the real beauty of women from all cultures, body shapes, ages and life journeys as they naturally are. I am aware to not sexualise women in any way, and the choice in nudity is purely to emphasise the equivalence between each woman, as well as her surroundings. I am working with 35mm and 120mm film, to naturally keep a raw and organic element to my process.
I have already begun photographing women in Australia, and have been accepted into the Naked State Art Residency at Bare Oaks, Canada in August 2016. From here I wish to travel to as many countries as possible to continue photographing women, broadening my understanding of the topics raised, and deepening my knowledge of art and culture from around the world.
I will exhibit the final images in 2017 along with publishing my first art book. This publication will be filled with the final images, fine art landscapes, content from my travels and ancient wisdom, serving as a resource for future generations to be empowered and educated on this topic and in awe of the beauty if this world.
My deepest gratitude goes to anyone who believes in this project and cause as much as I do, and it willing to support my creative endeavours. You can also follow the project on Instagram to join me on this journey – @womenofthewildproject.
