The Perth Hills and Wheatbelt Band is a Western Australian Youth Concert Band that specialises in providing inspirational musical performance opportunities for Western Australian Youth Musicians both within Australia & in foreign countries.
The band tours regularly & has performed in China, Hawaii, Turkey, France, Belgium, England, Germany, Holland and Israel as well as the Sydney Opera House. In April 2018, 38 young musicians will depart Perth for 2 weeks and perform in Disneyland (LA) and Washington as well as New York.
Donated funds will be used to offset the bands travel costs.
The Carnegie Hall festival is a prestigious event with only 8 ensembles worldwide being invited each year and this represents a unique opportunity for WA youth to strive for excellence as they compete on the world stage. Entry is by audition only.
Donors will be contributing to the showcasing Australian talent in New York.
As well as Carnegie Hall, the band will give a public concert in Central Park and be involved in ANZAC Day commemorations in New York.
Donated money will be used to offset the band’s travel and accommodation costs including the transporting of instruments from Australia.
The project will allow the participants to experience a unique performance opportunity and promote Australian musical talent to an International audience.
