Reclusive writer Becky Holt is being stalked in her high-rise apartment, so Samantha Slade, failed stand-up comedian turned fledgling private eye, comes to her aid… for a fee, of course. But will her first case be the death of them?
Having tested our script and concept through the Lean Filmmaking Accelerator program (www.leanfilmmaking.com), we raised the funds for production and shot TRENCH over 16 action packed days with the help of an incredibly dedicated and professional crew and a great cast of actors, including Scott Major (Neighbours), Cate Wolfe (The Doctor Blake Mysteries), Samantha Hill (Murder at Warrabah House), Perri Cummings (Neighbours), Lulu McClatchy (Not Suitable for Children), Dave Lamb (The Bazura Project), Simon Godfrey (of stand-up comedy duo This is Siberian Husky), Guy Davis (The Interview), and Leighton Phair (Thank God You’re Here).
With the help and support of some of Melbourne’s most iconic locations, Trench is not only a cool little detective comedy, but a love letter to the architecture and a nod to Melbourne’s cultural life.
Now, to honour the great work and support of everyone involved in the shoot, we need to finish the film and bring it to the screen.
With your support, we will be able to complete post-production, which includes picture and sound editing, the creation and recording of an original score, sound mixing, grading and outputting the film ready for festivals and distribution. It will also help us fund initial marketing and publicity costs.
Formed for the purpose of making feature films that provide original or inspired spins on classic genres, and pushing low-budget filmmaking in fun, interesting directions, we here at Cinema Viscera are excited to complete the post production stage of our first feature film and get it in front of an audience, while supporting original, independent Australian-made genre cinema. But we can only do this with your help.
Thank you in advance for your generous support!
