We’ve teamed up with Red Line Productions as part of the Unspoken Season at the legendary Old Fitz Theatre.
O’Punksky’s Theatre Company began in 1990 when an ensemble of actors created a production of Frank McGuinness’s Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme at the Crossroads Theatre in Darlinghurst. The production was a hit and O’Punksky’s Theatre was born! We became one of the co-founding partners of the legendary Old Fitz Theatre. We are now returning back to the iconic Old Fitz, where we began, to present the Australian premiere of The Night Alive.
The Night Alive was written by playwright Conor McPherson, the recipient of the prize by the Irish Funds home office in Dublin. The Australian premiere will be directed by tony-nominated Maeliosa Stafford and features a stellar and award-winning cast:
Sarah Jane Kelly
We put on plays that go to the heart and soul of theatre. We examine the lives of the forgotten and unexamined, their yearnings to become heroic.
Help us to tell the story of Tommy and Aimee, two people from the margins of society who have lost their way. Their chance meeting offers a glimmer of hope that they might rise out of their unremarkable lives and find a purpose and even the extraordinary. But events take an unexpected turn.
We are hoping to raise $4,800 to realise the production. Your donations will help fund the set design and construction, as well as wages for our sensational cast of new and established Aussie actors.
Help us to create meaningful and unforgettable theatre that will stay with you long after the curtain falls!
