SUPERCELL is an annual festival presenting and developing contemporary dance in all its wildest forms.
Unleashing in 2017, the inaugural SUPERCELL will present a curated program of the highest-caliber contemporary dance to develop and connect choreographers, dancers, and audiences. SUPERCELL aspires to be a highlight of Brisbane’s cultural calendar and a leader for contemporary dance on a global scale.
The festival will run from 20 – 25 February 2017. The festival will use the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Art in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley as its base.
The festival is set to go ahead and is supported by the Brisbane City Council.
Supercell will be Australia’s first annual contemporary dance festival with a truly national and international outlook. Supercell seeks to present and understand what Australian contemporary dance is, side by side with amazing pieces of dance from around the world.
Donations will used to improve artists fees, further the reach of marketing and go towards production costs.
Supporting Supercell will ensure that we have the best inaugural festival and show to the world that SUPERCELL has arrived and is here to stay.
