I have been selected to have a stall at The Other Art Fair in Sydney this October.
Help me take my business to the next level and meet a whole new pool of potential galleries and buyers!

Held at The Cutaway beneath Sydney’s renowned Barangaroo Reserve on the harbour waterfront, The Other Art Fair will run for four days from 24-28 October and attract a crowd of 8-10,000 visitors from all walks of life.

This is a fabulous opportunity for me to share my efforts to change the definition of beauty.

My vision is to use my art to encourage the appreciation of our bodies and all the things they can do, regardless of size, age or ability.

I find bodies fascinating as I see them as a visual map of all the things we’ve ever experienced with each scar, wrinkle and freckle representing part of our journey through life since we were born.

I am heading to Sydney with a van loaded to the brim with paintings in order to share this vision, but this is no cheap feat!

I need your help to make it to Sydney to realise the biggest opportunity in my career to date.

For the first time ever, my work will be seen in the flesh by thousands of people.

I will have the chance to meet and liaise with Sydney galleries and a new market of potential buyers.

Although I have generated awesome traction within the Melbourne art community, as a tiny one-woman sole trader business, the going is tough, and breaking into the Sydney market is my next major goal.

But there is only so much I can do on my own; making art means that I can only work in my day-job part time, and covering the costs of my studio rent, materials, gallery hire and shipping fees has me financially stretched.

While I have had some tremendously generous people offer to cover my accommodation and provide me with a van to get there, your donations will help me subsidise the other major costs associated with my Sydney visit such as:

– fuel
– stall rental
– shopfitting and branding, and
– the chance to get some prints made of my work which I have been desperate, but haven’t had the funds, to do for a really long time.

Please help me maximise this opportunity without maxing out my credit card!

In my practice I am focussed on changing the definition of beauty to be more about the appreciation of our bodies and all the things they can do, regardless of size, age or ability. I find bodies fascinating as I see them as a visual map of all the things we’ve ever experienced with each scar, wrinkle and freckle representing part of our journey through life since we were born, and I lament the lack of representation and inclusivity of western beauty standards.

I paint life-size, hyper-real portraits of a cross section of individuals; un-airbrushed and unaltered. I try to capture the essence of the people I paint in a way that respects and honours their willingness to share their body and story with me and my audience.

My work has been exhibited around Australia and I won Third Prize in Painting (Oil/Acrylic) in the Graeme Hildebrand Art Prize for Young Contemporary Artists in 2017. I have also been a finalist in the Stanthorpe Art Festival (2016 & 2018), Bluethumb Art Prize (2018), Waverley Art Prize (2019), fortyfivedownstairs Emerging Artist Award (2019) and the upcoming 2019 Lester Prize.
