Alexander Biggs makes softly devastating music. His distinctly gentle vocals, stinging lyricism, melodic ingenuity and evocative acoustic arrangements so effectively encapsulate the ambiguous pain of early adulthood – loneliness, despondence and nostalgia for a more carefree time.
Alexander spent the majority of 2019 self recording and producing demos for his debut album, completely self funded. These songs have been written and recorded in many places – from blanket fort hideaways in a noisy Melbourne apartment to a suburban kitchen; the lively lounge room of friends of friends to a makeshift bedroom on the lounge floor of his mother’s house.
In his next endeavour, Alexander will return to these hideaways to channel the ephemeral and the profound, whittling his findings into personal milestones that seek to resonate with our shared truths.
In an often hurried and lonely world, Alexander’s music proves valuable in offering personal tellings that are relatable and consoling, often calling on times of hardship as a means of providing comfort in a shared knowingness. With a current fanbase bridging across walks of life, Alexander’s work is sure to reach and move many.
Donations will afford Alexander the ability to supplement his own personal costs in the completion and release of his debut album.
