Schoolhouse Studios is an established not-for-profit arts organisation that has provided affordable workspaces for emerging artists and creative businesses in inner-city Melbourne since 2011.

Now operating across two sites in Collingwood and East Brunswick, we provide tenants with opportunities for artistic and professional development as well as engagement with the broader community through a regular calendar of arts events.

These include: monthly exhibitions at Long Division Gallery, Detention Series Arts Management Workshops, Sissy Screens Queer Cinema Club, Magic Hands Auslan Classes, Christmas Artist Markts and the annual Independent Reelgood Film Festival.

We need your help to ensure the sustainability of Schoolhouse Studios, so we can continue to:

– provide affordable studio and exhibition spaces for emerging Melbourne artists
– engage the public through innovative arts events and programs
– help subsidise studio and exhibition costs for artists from diverse backgrounds
– keep up maintenance for both studio sites.

Your contribution will be used to cover the operating costs of running Schoolhouse Studios in 2018 and help ensure the future of our organisation!

Schoolhouse Studios is a not-for-profit arts organisation based in Melbourne. We exist to provide affordable workspaces for emerging artists and creative businesses in inner-city Melbourne— to improve their opportunities for artistic and professional development as well as their engagement with the broader community.

Schoolhouse Studios does this through access to affordable studio and exhibition spaces; by fostering strong networking opportunities within Schoolhouse Studios and the community at large; by offering ongoing support through marketing and promotion; and by engaging the public through innovative arts events and programs.
