Days Left

Sandford (District Population 150) is a very small rural village, 5km south of Casterton in South Western Victoria. It is located around 60km from the coast and 40km from the South Australian border..
Sandford Bush Festival is a ‘Not for Profit’ friendly ‘Grass Roots’ event run over the Labour Day long weekend in March. In our first two years we have presented over 150 performances covering Bush, Folk, Celitic, Bluegrass and Country music and Bush Poetry, presenting bands and solo acts on 4 stages, providing a welcome boost to regional arts, tourism and business.

The festival provides a much needed boost to arts and tourism as well as an excellent opportunity for up and coming musicians and established acts utilising up to date sound equipment and professional sound and stage crews to perform to enthusiastic crowds.
Nationally and internationally acclaimed artists perform alongside local bands & artists and provide experience and coaching for emerging performers. Featured artists in 2020 will include The Bushwackers, The Royal High-Jinx, The Borderers, Twa bards, The Grubby Urchins, In Your Dreams String Band, Stumpy Gully Bush Band, Crooked Road, Greg Champion, Paul Wookey, Jose Garcia, Bruce Watson, Henk Groot and more.

All monies raised are directed back into the following year’s festival to cover performer’s fees, marquee hire, staging, lighting, sound engineers, security, toilet hire, media advertising, website, posters, artwork and everything else required to stage a successful festival. Any excess will be distributed among local charities and community groups.

Stumpy Gully Bush Band. was formed around 10 years ago to ‘Give Back’ to the Community.

We are a ‘Not For Profit’ High Energy Bush Band supporting our local community with Top Quality Live Bush Music.

Membership of the band is by invitation and involves hard work and some personal expense. The original members (All still with the band) were retired professional entertainers or very experienced amateurs, all with a strong sense of community.

We are particularly involved in
1. Supporting Community Events with live music.
2. Raising Funds for Charities & Community Groups, and more recently
3. Creating and running the Sandford Bush Festival.
