Q is a play about the value we place on our own experiences – past, present, and future. It begins with a simple question: ‘If death was as easy as signing on a dotted line, if the sole criterion for entrance into heaven was met by ticking a checkbox, would you sign?’ An existentialist critique on our own society’s focus on quantity and process over quality and meaning, Q places your life in a file and asks you to analyse what you’ve made of it.
Made by young, Melbourne-based theatre makers, Q is a new Australian play debuting in February 2019 at La Mama Courthouse.
Q is the result of a two-year development at Monash Uni Student Theatre (MUST) by new playwright and director Aleksandr Corke. After tireless work on the concept and script, we’re asking for funds to make this stunning and relevant show into exactly what it needs to be.
Donations will be used primarily to pay for set, costume, and marketing. This means the team of 15 independent theatre-makers working on bringing this show to La Mama can split the profits and continue to make new and exciting work.
