About Project re-BOOT
Project re-BOOT will support the circus to head to regional and remote areas of Australia to provide new opportunities for the young people at risk who live in there.

These communities are often isolated, have culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and the young people experience high rates of social and health problems, and particularly high rates of suicide [one of the highest in the country].

But you can help.

The strength of Project re-BOOT is in the community consultation involved and the capability for self-determination by the participants. ACAPTA will supply the artists and structure, but the communities dictate how, when and where the project runs and set their own targets for the project outcomes [and ACAPTA works to make sure it happens].

The first community we are working with for Project ReBoot is Robinvale, located 469 ks north–west of Melbourne. Robinvale is the traditional lands of the Tati Tati, Wiradjuri, Muti Muti, Wamba Wamba and Latje Latje people and over 30 languages are spoken at the local school. It is famous for its grapes, olives, carrots and almonds and has a popular Aussie Rules footy team.

Why Circus?
Circus promotes mental health and emotional wellbeing, supports young people to take risks in safe environments, builds confidence, cooperation and self-esteem, and it’s fun! But you don’t have to take our word for it, read up on the proven health and social benefits of circus here: http://acapta.org.au/resources-social-circus/

Project re-BOOT will deliver an intensive circus arts project in September 2015 and January 2016. Your generosity will support a small team of four professional circus artists and a musician to head-out to Robinvale to make this innovative and vibrant project a reality.

Our plans are big, because we passionately believe that circus makes the world a better place, so this is the beginning of our long-term plans, we want to run the Robinvale project from 2015 – 2017.

How you can help
