Now heading into its 21st year, the Over The Fence Comedy Short Film Festival has grown to become a major event across Australia and the world, with screenings at over 40 screening last year alone.
The festival has earned a reputation for showcasing the best, cheeky, wonderful and most excellent ‘world of comedy films’, from around the globe and has developed a loyal following of comedy and film lovers, as well as those keen to support important films, which make you think, just as much as they tickle your funny bone!
By holding the festival across a variety of venues in both rural and densely populated areas, OTF aims to celebrate new and independent film makers, their comic masterpieces and their excellent sense of humour. We are committed to encouraging and stimulating comedy film production worldwide and producing a festival which celebrates, entertains and inspires through comedy.
OTF’s success can be attributed to the passion and dedication of the volunteers and stakeholders. To date we have screened over 500 films from countries all over the world and have featured works from major talents such as Samuel Johnson (House of Names), Steve Baker (Confessions of an Animation & Moments), Robert Forsythe (Stump), Adam Elliot (Brother) and David Collins of the Umbilical Brothers (Pain in The Keyhole), just to name a few.
OTF was created as a grass roots festival dedicated to championing the Indie and new film makers, who are the starting point of a flourishing film making industry. We aim to create a vibrant, stimulating, inspiring environment for film makers and audiences and to bring laughter, thought and joy to people.
Our mission is to offer a refreshing challenge to people’s ideas of ‘what comedy is’, to give our audience a whole new experience of the way in which funny stories can be told through a wide variety of film making styles, genres and from all countries across the world!
OTF relies on the support of the community and dedication of its organisers and volunteers, without whom this festival would not be possible.
Any kind of generous donation will be used to keep OTF running – From administration costs, travel costs for screening hosts and the ever-increasing film screening fees.
Thank you for considering supporting the Over The Fence Comedy Short Film Festival. The festival exists because of you, the ever growing network of cinema-goers, comedy enthusiasts, volunteers and businesses who believe in what we are trying to achieve.
