Over 4 years Red Line Productions have presented over 90 productions at the Old Fitz Theatre to over 160,000 patrons, employing over 900 artists in the process.

Since September 2014 Red Line Productions have been at the forefront of reigniting the legendary Old Fitz Theatre.

We have been the recipients of over 40 nominations for various awards from both the Sydney Theatre Awards and the GLUGS.

We have multiple shows now growing out of the Fitz and playing in much larger theatres, in 2019 our lauded productions of The Wolves and A View From The Bridge will be remounted at Belvoir and The Ensemble respectively, Louis Nowra’s This Much Is True will be touring the country and two other productions, which will be announced shortly, will be rolling out across Australia.

Most importantly, our tiny 60 seat theatre has been filled with over 170,000 audience members seeing a show with us.

It has been a remarkable 4 years for a company that operates solely off its box office sales combined with the generosity of individual philanthropists and a couple of passionate foundations.

However, to survive, and to continue to thrive, we need your help. Partner up with us and become a 2019 Season Supporter.

Red Line Productions exists to build the best new contemporary theatre and performance practice, building a rigorous community of practice among artists both emerging and established who are afforded a platform for career development in a safe and relatively risk-free financial environment. Since 2015 we have presented over 20 exclusively commissioned brand new Australian works, including our New Fitz program which supported emerging writers and directors to get their new works on stage and the Red Line Underground program showcasing fringe talent and works,

Your support will go towards keeping our theatre running and by partnering up with us on our productions. We can not do this alone. We can not survive on ticket sales. We do not get any government funding. We need the help of yourselves, to partner up with us and to make this theatre YOURS! Come on board this journey with us. Welcome to Red Line.

Red Line Productions kicked into life in late 2014 to resurrect the much-loved Old Fitzroy Theatre in Woolloomooloo. Since taking up their residency, the venue has been transformed into a robust centre for excellence and independent sector generation through Red Line’s curated programming and late night development frames for new writing and emerging practitioner showcasing. Now widely acknowledged as Sydney’s home of indie theatre, the company was nominated for 22 Sydney Theatre Awards in 2015.

Founded on an ethos of backing the next generation of artists and audience, Red Line delivers positive leadership in the growth and vitality of the independent sector. The work of Red Line is absolutely necessary, ensuring that Australia’s independent creative ecology remains distinct and resilient.

The intensely intimate nature of the venue allows for fearless programming and production; the venue is positioned as a hub to connect audiences, artists and supporters. Red Line contributes to building strong artistic and creative capital, embracing and developing the audience of the future.
