Lone Tree is a short drama film, following a widower, Graham, as he travels to the tree that he and his wife were married beneath. He battles his own demons, including a taunting visage of his younger self, as well as other forms of adversity on his trip to scatter her ashes.
We are raising funds in order to make this production a reality. This project is for a wide audience; University and film professionals, as well as a senior audience with whom Graham’s story will resonate.
Filming will commence on the 4th of September and conclude on the 10th of September.. Post production will be completed in late November.
The stories that senior Australians can tell us are many and varied, beautiful and sometimes tragic. Graham’s story reflects a journey that many Australian widows and widowers take after the passing of their spouse, and we believe that it will connect with many people on an emotional and personal level.
We know that people will want to see the story of Graham turned into a reality on screen, and we need your help to make that a reality. We will need $2500 to fund the production of this heartfelt tale.
Donations will be used in a number of ways. Graham travels across the countryside in an RV, which donations will help fund! Contributions will also help to bring Graham and Maggie to life in their youth, with authentic costumes from the era, depicting them as they were on the day of their wedding. To create this production, we will also be transporting the cast, crew and equipment, as well as outfitting the locations, keeping the cast and crew fit and healthy, and making sure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to experience Lone Tree once it has come to life!
