Liminal magazine seeks to present the unique voices and perspectives which make up the multitude of Asia-Australia today. With Liminal, we’re looking to create a better Australia, one long-form interview at a time.

Liminal started as a passion project, but we’d really love your support.
We’ve been writing, interviewing and photographing away on our own, as this project is very dear to our hearts, and we’ll keep doing all of these things, regardless. But – it’s tax time! So we thought we’d ask for your support in running Liminal.

We will use any funds raised for site hosting, the cost of purchasing and developing film, treating our interviewees to coffee, and, importantly, to pay our hard-working team of writers and interviewers. We’ve also been dreaming of a print edition, so any spare funds will go towards this very new and exciting project.

So far everything has been funded by our editor, so we’re looking to make our project more financially sustainable, with your help.

We are incredibly grateful for any support you can give.

Liminal Magazine is an online platform that showcases and celebrates the ideas and work of Asian-Australian creatives and artists.

Liminal was borne out of frustration with the lack of Asian representation in Australia’s cultural landscape. As an online publication, Liminal will host interviews with Asian-Australian artists to explore questions of race, representation, and identity; what does it mean to be Asian-Australian in 2017? How does it feel? What does it look like?

The artists we interview span across a range of disciplines and fields from visual art, illustration, photography and fashion to performance, poetry, dance, and writing.
