This project brings the much loved children’s book ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ into the homes and schools of Australian children.
Your tax deductible donation allows children and their adults to enjoy a theatrical presentation of the ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ from their own home. The show is based on the book by the same name, which is part of The K-2 2020 Premier’s Reading Challenge and was first presented by Drop Bear Theatre in 2015.
In this brave new world, children and their adults need more places to relax, play and learn together. In this project, Ali Gordon leads a team of dedicated, professional artists to explore and revise the theatre experience in an online world.
Families have been through a very hard year and this project offers more pleasure, more play and more ways for parents to enjoy time with their children.
The primary artistic goal is to create a transcendental portal for young audiences in a digital environment. Participatory play will be central, as the medium is not a TV screen, but a live space for direct interaction using Zoom backchannels.
Your tax deductible donation is directly used to pay professional wages of artists who have been impacted by COVID-19 job losses.
Most theatre artists are not eligible for Job Seeker or Job Keeper programs.
Your donation offers six professional artists a place to WORK. Given there is no real end in sight for restrictions on International Travel and large group gatherings, your generosity in supporting this program is highly prized.
What’s more, excursions for children have been and will continue to be limited, and your tax deductible donation will contribute towards a performance that reaches directly in the classroom and the home. Our kids need more than Netflix and Xbox.
Your donation offers children and their adults a place to PLAY, and to LEARN together.
Don’t forget your donation is 100% tax deductible.
