Kupka’s Piano aims to entice audiences with new sounds, new structures, and new ideas. We have achieved this throughout the past five years by commissioning, premiering, and representing new Australian and international music in Brisbane.
Our next adventure to take us into 2017 is a studio recording of a selection of these works. On the yet-to-be-named album will be recent Kupka’s Piano commissions by Australian composers Jakob Bragg, Liam Flenady, Michael Mathiesen-Sandars, Chris Dench, Hannah Reardon-Smith, and Alan Lawrence.
Professional recordings of these works are important for both the ensemble and for the composers. We recognise the importance of promoting new Australian music, and we know that this debut album will showcase the latest-and-greatest from both the emerging and established musical generations.
We want to expand our capacity as an Australian music ensemble and reach dedicated and new listeners around the world.
Your donation will contribute toward studio costs, piano tuning, mixing, our engineer, album artwork, and pressing. We know that everyone likes prizes, so we have the following to offer as a thank-you for your gift.
Help us share our music with you. We are handing the power over to our network of patrons, supporters, and colleagues to make this happen. Kupka’s Piano will rely solely on YOUR support to fund the expenses associated with this project. In return, you will have made a special gift to an ensemble that exists to represent and promote new Australian music. Your donation is tax-deductible, and we will be forever grateful for the private investment made into a quality recording that will be shared with our community of listeners and beyond.
