Exploring the spaces in between contemporary viola art music, experimental electronic music, and electronic dance music, “A Missing Moon” is a gripping and cohesive journey through musical genre and emotion, across new works by Anne Leilehua Lanzilotti, Chris Perren, Ailie Robertson, Tilman Robinson, and LÂLKA.
“A Missing Moon” is a debut album and concert experience like no other: a unique, organic exploration of a post-genre approach to music at every step, combining compositional, production and performance aspects from a kaleidoscope of different musical worlds, then squeezing them through Kieran’s keen curatorial process.
Exemplifying values of social equity, local community, and exploring the modern possibilities of the viola, “A Missing Moon” creates five new pieces for viola and electronics: three from female composers and producers, and three from local Australian artists. Scores for all commissioned pieces will be made available alongside educational resources to make them performable by any violist—whether they have previous experience with electronics or not.
The entire $5000 initial goal will go directly to these five commissioned composers—Anne Leilehua Lanzilotti, Chris Perren, Ailie Robertson, Tilman Robinson and LÂLKA—ensuring they are fairly paid for their indispensable contributions, and contributing to a rich and diverse community of adventurous music creators.
Furthermore, with any donation of $1000+, you can choose the dedicatee of one of these new works! Have the work dedicated to you as an integral supporter, or choose someone you would like to dedicate it to as a unique gift.
In the case donations top $5000, these funds will go towards offsetting Kieran’s monetary contribution to the project, putting him in an even better position to make this and future projects economically sustainable.
