Inspired and powered by local music lovers and artists, Jazz by the Bay (JBTB) brought Dunsborough town centre alive with the sounds of jazz, soul and funk for the first time in 2013 with support from the City of Busselton and five venue partners. The Festival has since become a much-loved part of the June WA Day long weekend in the South West, enlivening town squares with free live performances and bringing unique music events to popular venues around the region.
The Jazz by the Bay Association is seeking the support of philanthropic individuals to support the mission of the Festival in 2019 and into the future:
• To provide local and visiting music lovers with opportunities to enjoy live local, Western Australian and international jazz, swing, soul and funk
• To introduce the jazz genre to new audiences in an accessible and enjoyable way
• To provide local musicians with performance opportunities to showcase and expand their art
• To inspire and facilitate educational opportunities for young upcoming musicians
Cultural events like Jazz by the Bay Festival are central to regional communities for creative outlet, skills development, economic stimulus and overall vibrancy and connectedness.
By donating to Jazz by the Bay you’ll be keeping live music as a thriving part of a South West Arts scene for all to enjoy and benefit from whether an audience member, local musician or business.
Central to the Jazz by the Bay philosophy is making jazz accessible to new audiences and providing local musicians with performance opportunities to showcase and expand their art. In line with this, the Festival puts a large emphasis on hosting free community performances to expose jazz music and unearth new talent.
Your generous support will be used to help fund the 34 programmed free performances that will be available for community enjoyment as part of the 2019 Festival while ensuring that our local talent are still remunerated for their performance time and effort.
