This year I’ve been given a wonderful opportunity: I’m lucky to be among a handful of artists chosen to receive Creative Partnerships Australia’s 2017 MATCH Lab grant. This means that if I reach my fundraising goal of $10,000 it will be matched, dollar for dollar, by CPA. Your donation will be doubled!!
ALSO – the Australia Cultural Fund has DGR status, so If you donate to my project right here through the ACF, not only will you be helping me create my album, but your donation will be tax deductible.
I can’t wait to hit the studio – this album is going to sound huge!
The mighty Jim Keltner will be returning once again (as on 2012’s The Still And The Steep) to the drum chair. My longtime touring comrade Matt Nightingale will hold down the bottom end, and the great Ben Tolliday will be back to engineer.
I’ve saved up some cash to get me started on the recording, but needless to say, the project budget is much more than I have at hand. BUT… I’ve been given a gigantic opportunity in the form of the MATCH Lab grant, and I’m going to do everything that I can to reach that goal and get this album out into the world.
OUTSIDERS was praised by Rhythms Magazine as “one of the finest, most inspired Australian rock albums in quite some time. The work of a man well on top of his game.” upon its release in 2015. I’d like to stay on top of that game, and with your help, I’d like to make an even better follow up album.
When it comes down to the line, knowing that there’s a small handful of folks out there who believe in what I do is what keeps me going. I don’t take it for granted one bit – I’m grateful for our connection, and for your support.
With thanks and love,
P.S: If any funds are raised beyond the stated goal they’ll go towards making the album even bigger and better – more studio time, more songs, perhaps even more special guests!
