It is time for our next Inventi Ensemble album! In recent years we have commissioned a number of new works by Australian composers and wish to celebrate them on this new album. Melody Eötvös and Caerwen Martin are two wonderful composers we have collaborated with and this album features two of their works each, written for mixed chamber ensemble.

Melody Eötvös – Street of the Four Winds and October in the Chair
Caerwen Martin – Women of the Earth and The Book Beneath my Bed

This project has great importance for us at Inventi and beyond. We are passionate about promoting and supporting music by women and this project is another part of that journey. We need your help. We have some funds to put towards this project but cannot fund it entirely on our own. Any donation, large or small will help us make this happen.

WHAT WE NEED
Approx $10,000 to cover recording costs, player fees, sound engineer, editing and production

Your donation will go towards all these costs and help make this project possible. We thank you for supporting this album and supporting women’s music in Australia.

Inventi Ensemble is a dynamic new chamber ensemble run by Artistic Directors Ben Opie (oboe) and Melissa Doecke (flute), drawing together Australia’s finest soloists and chamber musicians. Internationally, Inventi musicians have performed at the BBC Proms, London’s Southbank, with San Francisco’s Ensemble Parrallel and Magik*Magik, as well as at music festivals in the UK, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Prague, Italy and the USA.

Splashing onto the Australian music scene in early 2014, Inventi Ensemble have already performed as part of Melbourne Knowledge Week, Melbourne Music Week, Melbourne Children’s Week, the Alice Desert Festival in Alice Springs and a tour in South Australia. This is in addition to starting a monthly music series in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and running a weekly music programme at the Maribyrnong Detention Centre. They also present interactive concerts for organisations such as Vision Australia and Probus Clubs. Their 2015 season includes invitations to perform at Ngeringa Arts and the Melbourne Recital Centre where they will perform their commissioned world premiere work by Luke Styles as well as the Australian premiere of Edwin Roxburgh’s Eclissi.
