Fresh after the success of our sold seasons of Paper Doll in Sydney and Perth, and Yen at Kings Cross Theatre, New Ghosts Theatre Company launches IGNITE COLLECTIVE, a ground-breaking initiative that partners emerging and established female playwrights and creatives, to create four new works a year for female performers between the ages of 20-30.
New Ghosts has been creating and presenting high quality new works in the independent sector for the last four years. In the history of our auditions, three females have auditioned for every one male, for roles of this age. This over-saturated and undernourished demographic has therefore become a high priority for our company.
This campaign will allow us to kickstart our company. A donation is an investment in our 2019 production, and in the canon of work we hope to create for female artists, by female artists. We will showcase unique voices, roles, and stories that are needed, wanted, and often lacking in our theatre scene.

Donations will be used for the following:
$3000 for 2 to 3 weeks of theatre venue hire
$2500 for our design budget. This will pay for set, costumes, props, consumables, building and transportation costs
$2500 for our marketing budget. This pays for photography, graphic design work, printing costs, website ads, Facebook boosts and much more
$2000 for rehearsal space hire over a part-time 7 week period
The above does not include fees for the 32 members of the production team or cast of the collective, who due to their passion for this initiative will be working on a profit-share basis in our inaugural years. As we are an independent and therefore unfunded theatre company, this investment will allow us to continuously finance work for the collective.
