Hummingsong is a vibrant musical community of approximately 500 women in six choirs in Sydney’s north.
We are six friendly villages within one big, inclusive Hummingsong community. We push ourselves to make fabulous quality music, performing a diverse range of beautiful musical styles. Our mission is to enrich the lives of women in our local community through music, and support women and children in need. One of our passions is to raise awareness and funds for local women and children escaping domestic violence, through our performances.
The upcoming 2021 season is shaping up as one to watch… full of warmth and soul-nourishing music, culminating in a season-highlight annual concert event.
Hummingsong is a platform for sharing a wonderful message to the public. It’s a message that promotes the power and passion for community music making and one that we want to tug at the hearts of the general public. We hope to inspire others to a) get involved in their own community singing in a choir, and b) take action against domestic violence.
One of Hummingsong’s goals for 2021 is to fly past the $200,000 mark in total donations to local domestic violence shelters since our inception in 2012. These funds are raised largely through our performances, and currently our tally stands at just over $180,000 donated.
We are enormously grateful for your generous support! Your donation is helping to cover the costs of preparing for our upcoming season, particularly the production costs of the gala concert next September.
By contributing to our 2021 season you play a vital part to enrich our local communities with the powers of music and friendship.
