Home Safe will open a dialogue about attitudes and behaviours that need to change. Women worldwide deal with the daily struggle of getting home safely, with some never getting home at all. The blame should not lie with these women.
This is a short film being made as a graduating piece for JMC Academy, Melbourne. However, it is more than that. Home Safe is a story that needs to be told.
By exploring a simple but real, relatable and truthful story, we hope to educate individuals who may be unaware of the micro aggressions that women deal with on a daily basis, and the lengths that we go to in order to keep ourselves safe.
Our goal is to add to the conversation that the nation is currently having regarding women’s safety. It is our belief that we should all be able to walk home whenever we want, wherever we want and assume that we will make it safely to our final destination.
Donations will cover equipment fees, location fees, production design, post production fees, festival entries and catering for our wonderful cast and crew.
We are immensely grateful to those who are willing and able to offer their financial support in order to get this film made and viewed by as many audience members as possible.
This is an important story that needs to be told.
