Fronted by legendary roots man Ras Roni from Barbados via London, Fijian LTL GZeus and Sierra Leonian Blaka C, The Strides are a 9-piece roots-reggae-dancehall act that have released three critically acclaimed albums and appeared at festivals across the country. The Strides’ music faithfully builds on the foundations of classic roots reggae with a hip-hop edge, forging a sound that brings together modern dance hall, dub beats and reggae-pop. The Strides have forged a truly global sound melding a diversity of cultures and instrumentation under the one universal consciousness.
We are now seeking funding support to finish production on our fourth album, due out 2019. With the release of our third album, ‘The Youth The Rich and the Fake’ in 2015, the band saw regular plays on Triple J and invitations to perform at Womadelaide, Boomerang Festival (Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival Indigenous Festival), Global Rhythms Festival, Granite Town Festival, Caloundra Festival, Summer Sounds Festival, Vivid Festival and many others.
The band now asks you to help fund the final stages of our fourth and highly anticipated album.
We have already recorded the new tracks, and they are sounding amazing. The new album features songs that we have been performing live over the past few years, including tracks like “Freedom Fires”, “She Give Me’ Lovin” and “Feel Special”, alongside with six other new original tracks. We believe you are going to love the new album just as much as we have been recording it!
The album album has been recorded at REC studios in Sydney, the old 301 studios and we now need to raise more funds to have it mixed, mastered, pressed and promoted!
The donations will go towards the final stages of making the album.
This includes money for mixing, mastering, design and pressing.
We will also be making a music video production to promote a single from the album.
