The Giovanni Consort’s 2020 Appeal

We invite you to consider supporting the 25th anniversary season of WA’s only professional choral ensemble.

Days Left

The Giovanni Consort are West Australia’s finest choral singers, who present exciting performance experiences across a wide range of musical styles to the widest possible audience. Our project is to raise funds to go towards the running of our 25th Anniversary season.

We are the only Performing Arts Company to provide paid work to professionally trained choral singers in Western Australia. In 2019 we presented four sell-out subscription concerts, a debut Fringe World show, a City of Perth sponsored concert, the Gala concert of Choralfest, the opening event of the Awesome Arts Festival, and the headline concert of the Denmark Festival of Voice, Most recently, we were featured alongside the Gesualdo Six, William Barton and Voyces in the 2020 Perth Festival.

The Giovanni Consort has long relied on the support of patrons and subscribers to help fund the widely acclaimed performances that we present. We invite you to join us throughout 2020 to donate to this project. We are seeking to raise $15,000 to help offset costs for our 25th Anniversary Season in 2020.

All donations will be used to pay our singers at professional rates, hire venues with acoustics that enhance our repertoire selections, and purchase sheet music for our performers to use.

In the 23 years since its foundation The Giovanni Consort has become renowned for its exquisite, high-quality performances of unaccompanied choral music ranging from the medieval period to the present day. We pride ourselves on presenting diverse and engaging musical programs in some of Perth’s most beautiful buildings and acoustics.

When the public attend our performances, they enjoy new interpretations of choral favourites but will also encounter new loves: pieces of music that are less well known, but which equally deserve a place in the heart. In our 2018 season audiences will be inspired and refreshed by works from the distant past as well as newly-composed works from the wider international choral canon.

A core principle in the group’s artistic mission is develop and nurture young performers in Perth. As a result, some of the city’s great singers have gained vital experience with the Consort. Notable alumni include Katya Webb, Taryn Fiebig, Iain Grandage, Andrew O’Connor and James Clayton.
