In 2017 he broke out of his comfort zone and took a starring role in the short film Yulubidyi – Until The End which has gone on the win numerous awards and screen all over the world.
Trenton has been unable to join us in the films success, so in December we hope to get him to the AACTA awards in Sydney where Yulubidyi is nominated for Best Short Film. We want Trenton to experience rolling down the red carpet and join in celebrating his success and the success of the film which is so dependent on his tremendous talent.
Trenton Samson has never really left the remote community of Jigalong. With the success of Yulubidyi – Until The End throughout the world we had hoped to give him the opportunity to visit places he has never seen before and relish in new experiences.
As a massive film fan, we know that Trenton attending the AACTA awards for a film he starred in will be a life event he will never forget. We hope you can help make this dream come true for him.
YULUBIDYI – UNTIL THE END’s main goal was always ‘to shine a light on people with disability in remote communities’. With the uncompromising performance of Trenton Samson we were able to do this and it is now time to take Trenton out to celebrate with a larger audience. Yulubidyi has screened at many festivals and won numerous awards, but unfortunately due to logistics, Trenton was unable to attend, so we are making it our mission to make sure he does not miss the AACTA awards.
We need to raise $10,000 in order to cover Trenton’s travel, accommodation and associated costs in getting him and his mother (Carer) over to Sydney in December for the AACTA awards. Funds will pay for flights from Jigalong to Sydney return, accommodation that is wheelchair friendly, a hire wheelchair in Sydney so Trenton can get around and some of the extra associated costs involved with Trenton’s travel.
