Cirque Nocturne is thrilled to have been invited to perform our signature Film Noir inspired show at the San Diego International Fringe Festival!
Cirque Nocturne encapsulates the seductive atmosphere of a classic Noir film of the 1940’s. Join our down on his luck cynical Private Investigator as he navigates his way through a cast of sensuous femme fatales, seedy characters and corrupt cops, as he struggles to solve the crime, find love, and most importantly, get paid. Dark, moody and atmospheric… With its soundtrack of period and contemporary jazz, the show encapsulates the ambiance of vice, corruption and glamour that the Noir genre of films is best known for. Be mesmerised by feats of dexterity and acrobatic prowess, featuring acts by the very best and brightest circus and variety performers from around Australia, this is a show not to be missed!
As a small Adelaide based company, whose productions have been funded by the performers themselves until this point, it would be impossible for us to pursue this opportunity without some form of financial assistance.
Unfortunately for us, due to the timing of the festival, we are ineligible for government support (it falls between grant rounds for both Arts SA and The Australia Council), and as such we need to seek alternative fundraising options.
We are pretty proud of our show, and this is an incredible opportunity to showcase what the South Australian Circus community, and the wider Adelaide arts scene, can do on a truly global stage.
The funds requested here will be used for flights to and from San Diego for our 8 cast members.
All up, we will need approx. $15,000 to cover festival registration, production costs, flights, accommodation, per diems and artist fees.
