Over the web-series’ six episodes (approx. 6-8 minutes each), Monica films her newest cooking special and tries to rehabilitate her flailing reputation after a scandalous video is leaked.

Chaos ensues as her newest assistant Katy joins the show and helps Monica get ready for the much anticipated Live Cook Off between Monica and another celebrity chef, who is mother nature reincarnated. Monica sees daily struggles with her branding, self belief and self control.

As her womance with Katy evolves, she starts to unravel her layers as a feminist, a business woman, a sexual being and a celebrity icon…. What does Monica want to say to the world through her show, and how do you discreetly remove a zucchini that won’t budge?

Why NOW?
‘Flawsome’ explores the intricacies and paradoxes of what it means to be a woman in a male-dominated industry of celebrity chefs. Our goal is to create a series that tackles these challenges faced by women in patriarchal society, which is why the cast and crew will be comprised of Australia’s up and coming female creatives, with an 81% female crew. By supporting this project, you’ll not only be championing the creation of female-driven narratives, but also fostering the talent of some of Australia’s rising female talent.
2020 was a rough year for many of us, the arts industry was hit with a strong hiatus, leaving many artists unable to create. Our team here at ‘Flawsome’ are eager to get their creative juices flowing again and to make this passion project the best it can possibly be.

The PLAN
‘Flawsome’ is set to begin shooting on the 13th of March 2021! With the cast and crew hired, it’s full steam ahead and we’re all gearing to go!

Once production wraps, we will shift into post-production with goals to release the series by mid to late 2021. We have in incredible cast and crew lined up with some of Australia’s stellar rising talent including series creator and star, Rachel Giddens, co-star Christina Sankari and director, Claudia Pickering

How Your Donation HELPS
Half our production has already been funded by production company Thirteen Entertainment and a variety of amazing Australian brands that agreed to support us. But we still need your help to get us across the finish line! Our crew is making the project as a labour of love, and we need your support to help us make this the best it can be. Donations will go towards hiring equipment, paying crew, locations, production design, hair and make-up. By supporting, you will be helping us fit those last pieces of the puzzle together.

Having studied and worked in tv, advertising and production and acting and being a part of the Australian film and television industry for over a decade now, I want to be a part of the exciting movement where women are creating engaging Australian content that has an international pull.

I created Thirteen Entertainment half through the desire to create that content, but half because as an actress working in Australia, I want more productions on screen that are written by women, for women, about women. However this goal does not envelop the entirety of what Thirteen Entertainment will produce, rather it’s one of my goals. I want to find and foster interesting stories (and storytellers) that question the norm and have experiences both “inside” and “outside” traditional society.
