Our story follows Maggie and her housemates; Will, Isabelle & May as they band together to find a new home, whilst at the same time trying to find their own individual places in the world. Not an easy feat in today’s rental market as they face DIY knock-throughs, closet sized bedrooms, big brother-esque application forms, optional toilet doors, optional bedroom doors, optional running water and Realtors with optional morals!
What’s the Timeline?
We’re currently part way through pre-pre-production. Our script is having its final revisions made and we have cast two of our four main actors!
We will start filming in early 2021 with our shoot taking place over a total of 4 weeks in and around Sydney. Once we wrap we will go straight into Post Production with the final product finished for submission to SXSW 2022.
Why This Story?
Strongly rooted in personal experience, Evicted! delves into a story that has yet to be told of our generation. For young professionals, navigating and surviving in the big city can be a struggle which presents a relatable topic for our target audience and is also fertile ground to mine for comic potential. It’s a relevant topic with universal themes about belonging and finding your place in the hilarious, unexpected, complicated and often cramped world that we live in.
Why Do We Need Your Support?
With the film industry slamming to a halt due to COVID-19, many productions have been delayed or pulled altogether. We’ve seen throughout the pandemic the sad reality of an under supported arts sector that has been decimated by the virus. While in isolation we turned to films, music and television to lift up our spirits, distract our minds and fill our time. For many independent filmmakers, the COVID speed bump will be too big of an obstacle to overcome. A donation to support Evicted! will ensure we are not one of the casualties.
How Will Your Support Help?
The funds donated through our ACF donation page will go towards the production stage of the project. We have also acquired funding through private investors and personal contributions by the production team. Having worked in the film industry for over a decade, our production team own a large amount of the kit required, meaning our equipment costs are fairly low. This will allow us to funnel more money into ensuring we have incredible locations and production design.

Catering – 20%
