Debatable started as a small one-line idea and has developed into a full scale short film production, ripe with hilarious identical twin antics, political parody and a few asthma attacks. By making Debatable, we are hoping to give you a film that inspires not only laughter but is also a thought-provoking commentary on the current climate of politics.
We believe this project is worth your interest, time and donation for a few simple reasons.
1: We want to make you laugh. We think there is a bit of humour in our story that everyone can appreciate, whether it be sibling rivalry, poking at politics or classic one-liners.
2: It’s ambitious. We want to show you identical twins on the screen. We want to show you interesting locations and set pieces. We want to show you the best possible version of ourselves as filmmakers right now.
3: It’s an opportunity. This is our last chance as university students to practice our craft before journeying into the professional industry and we want to have the opportunity to make the most of it.
So, for all these reasons and many more, we are asking for a donation of any size and support on our social media platforms to help manifest our film.
Your donations and support will help us fund our grand auditorium location, specific equipment, specialist crew, costumes, props and art department necessities, food for our crew, actors and extras and many, many, many smaller pieces that can make all the difference between a good and great film.
We will be shooting from the 11th to the 17th September 2019 and will conclude post-production early December. At the completion of Debatable, we hope to submit it to film festivals and reach our intended audience. Hopefully, that means you can watch it too!
But, if you can’t wait to see the film, follow our social media platforms for updates and behind the scenes bonus content.
