Crack Festival fosters the boldest new work and brightest new artists, creating a safe haven for new ideas amongst a supportive community of artists and audiences.
Annually we present our experimental arts Festival in Newcastle as part of This is Not Art (TiNA), which has provided a platform for young artists starting their careers and artists experimenting with new ideas for over 20 years. In the last decade, we have supported the presentation of more than 300 new works by 800 emerging and experimental artists from around Australia.
This year we extend our support of emerging artists by launching a new platform – PROTOTYPE. An immersive evening of rapid-fire works responding to the landscapes, architecture, and artists of Newcastle. Part art-party, part open-mic, PROTOTYPE is a new adventure in art-making for artists and audiences alike.
To make PROTOTYPE possible we need your support. Your donations will contribute to artist fees, transport, and accommodation costs for 10 PROTOTYPE artists. Your money will bring these artists together in Newcastle, give them a place to sleep, and most importantly – make sure they get paid for their ideas.
$30 covers one night of accommodation for an out of town artist
$100 provides a fee for one artist
$350 supports one regional artist to attend the Festival
Donate today to support the artists of tomorrow.
“Crack… provides artists with a safe space and warm audiences in which they can experiment with the engagement of space, audience and their artistic practice.” – Joanna Joy, 2018 Artist
