We have a beautiful 9 year old daughter who is just like her mother with so many things including her Autism, ADHD, and Anxiety. She also has Tourette’s. When our daughters Tic Disorder starting showing itself at age 4 my husband and I didn’t know much about it and we admit our ignorance as to what it meant to have Tourette’s. As she has gotten older her peers and herself have started noticing her ‘differences’. This was upsetting and she was feeling very alone. There wasn’t anything available out there that suited so we made one.

There is nothing like this available at the moment. There are quite a few books around, mostly written by professionals, but we were looking for something less clinical, more child friendly, less labeling and more acceptance focused and found there are not many available, so we made one. All we are asking for is the $2000 it is going to cost to get published. This book has been made for families with children with various differences and invisible disabilities to show the children that they are ‘normal’ and not alone, and to help explain their behaviors to their peers.

The whole book has been written by my husband and myself, illustrated by me and our daughter has had final say on every page. 100% of the money raised will go to getting it published. We have already had interest from parents, therapist and schools. The book is ready to go we just need the money to get it published.

Hello I am a woman, nearing 40 and have always felt wrong and out of place. I can now say I am not ‘wrong’ I am Autistic and I say it Proudly. I have been with my Husband since we were 16. We have a beautiful 9 year old daughter who is just like me with so many things including her Autism, ADHD, and Anxiety. She also has Tourette’s. I have been writing poetry since I was in primary school, and I have being doing art as a hobby and have my art designs on Redbubble for a couple of years now.
