Chronology Arts has adopted a responsive, entrepreneurial not-for-profit model in order to actively promote and negotiate on behalf of Australian composers.
Over the past few years we have seen a sharp incline in philanthropy as a means to support new music in Australia as government sources decrease and are too heavily relied on. The generosity of donors has been widely recognised as being an intrinsic support to composers; the desire to grow Australian music and support the arts is evident.
Through market research and thorough due diligence, Chronology creates targeted business cases for presenters of new music. By using an agency model with a long-term perspective, we direct new music careers and creative projects effectively and sustainably, rather than limiting our thinking to short-term commissioning and working on a case-by-case basis.
We need your help. We’ve planned three key development initiatives that we are seeking funds to achieve;
- A series of meetings nationally and internationally to introduce prospective new music collaborators to Australian artists and to build our CRM and foster relationships
- Expansion of our existing roster
- The “Australian Composer USB”; we have interviewed over 100 artistic decision makers throughout Australia to create a list of 20 incredible Australian composers we want to hear more from. We need funds to compile and distribute the findings so more Australian music can be generated.
No other artist agency in Australia focuses on new music. Your help will ensure we achieve our goals and is an investment in fostering robust careers for our artists now and actively contribute the Australian cultural landscape.
Please consider supporting our work, we are extremely grateful for any donation, large or small.
