Amy, Jim, and Kate have never met and yet they haunt and are haunted by each other. The story of each begins and ends with the discovery of a corpse, leaving these three very different people to question their existence. No longer certain of where they fit in the world, relationships fall apart and once familiar spaces take on an uncanny and frightening aspect.
Laura Wade’s award winning Breathing Corpses takes an unflinching look at what happens when we are forced to confront our mortality. One Little Room’s production of this darkly comic play will represent its first performance in Melbourne. Set in the industrial context of one of Melbourne’s newest performance venues, Candyland Arts Space, it will represent a significant contribution to the city’s growing site-specific theatre scene.
The production will form part of the 2016 Melbourne Fringe, a festival which appeals to an audience that is eager for work that is both challenging and performed to a high standard.
How your donation will be used:
We will use your donation to produce the play to the standard we know it deserves. Site specific theatre provides audiences with a unique opportunity to become immersed in the world on stage. Creating this type of theatre, however, requires significant expenditure on lighting, set design and sound.
Your donation will help us to provide our audience with a powerful theatrical experience.
