In mid 2018 I will head into the studio to record my fifth album featuring original material, showcasing many Australia’s finest musicians including Internationally award-winning vocalist Kristin Berardi and renowned pianist Matt McMahon. In addition to recording the 20 minute Arrivals and Prospects Suite, originally commissioned for the Brisbane International Jazz Festival, I will compose 6 new pieces for this album.
I am very excited to have received a MatchLab Grant through Creative Partnerships Australia which means that they will match every dollar of the $4000 that I am hoping to raise through the Australian Cultural Fund. With your support every dollar donated will be doubled, allowing me to record and document this special and exciting project.
Recording an album is a big undertaking. We will record 10 pieces for voice, saxophone, piano, bass and drums live over two days. Your support will contribute to the artist and engineer fees, studio hire, mixing and mastering expenses. The end result will be a mixed and mastered album showcasing new and exciting music performed by exceptional Australian musicians.
I am very privileged to have been awarded the 2018 Prelude Composer Residency at the Peggy Glanville-Hicks House. This means that I am in a very favourable position to devote considerable time and energy into applying myself completely to this project and ensuring that it is delivered to a high level.
I am looking forward to this project and very much hoping that you can be involved.
Please note that any donation over $2 is tax deductible- woohoo!
