After a well earned break Arcko Symphonic Ensemble is back, hoping to continue its valuable work performing overwhelmingly Australian new music from this and the last century, focusing whenever possible on larger scale music often neglected by other organisations. But we need your help!
STAGE ONE: We are planning on kick starting the next stage of Arcko’s evolution in late October this year with a concert featuring ensemble works by Australian female composers Margaret Sutherland, Christine McCombe and a world premier by Karen Heath juxtaposed with solo performances by Arcko members of Australian works for percussion, piano, viola and violin. Can you help us reach this goal?
STAGE TWO: If we can exceed our initial target by a significant amount then we a hope also to stage our long-planned for concert of works for string orchestra, including the first full performance of Moya Henderson’s The Dreaming, first performance in decades of Helen Gifford’s Phantasma alongside masterpieces by Richard Meale-Homage to Garcia Lorca and Harrison Birstwistle’s Endless Parade
An investment in Arcko is an investment in Australia’s musical heritage past, present and future. Thank you for your support.
