Acacia Quartet

Acacia Quartet Presents ‘Fratres’

Join Acacia Quartet on Sunday 21 July at 3:30pm for the second concert in their 2019 Independent Theatre Series.

Days Left

In 2019 Acacia Quartet will be presenting 3 concerts at the Independent Theatre in North Sydney. All concerts will be in typical Acacia style a mix of well-known, hardly performed and Australian string quartets.

The program for their second concert will feature Felix Mendelssohn’s early String Quartet No. 2, Op. 13, a new work by Australian composer Lyle Chan, Arvo Pärt’s mesmerising set of variations, titled ‘Fratres’ and a wonderful new work by Canadian composer Airat Ichmouratov, his String Quartet No. 4, Op. 35 ‘Time and Fate’.

Acacia Quartet is struggling to keep their 3 concert series at the Independent Theatre alive as hiring costs and promotional and publicity costs have left the quartet with no income for their last concerts. As much as all of Acacia love playing concerts at the truly wonderful Independent Theatre in North Sydney, the quartet wouldn’t be able to continue their series without financial support.

All donations received will go towards presenting the ‘Acacia Presents’ series 2019 to Sydney audiences.

Funds will be used to assist with hiring costs at the Independent Theatre in North Sydney, promotional expenses and publicity costs.

If you’d like to contribute to one special aspect of Acacia Quartet’s 2019 season, please contact the quartet directly.
