Skills Lab

 

The Australian Cultural Fund (ACF) have partnered with Creative Plus Business to offer exciting new professional development and capacity workshops and coaching sessions: Skills Lab. Skills Lab is a pilot professional development program for artists and organisations who have fundraised through the ACF to access targeted skills development in finance, compliance and governance, and branding. The program has been subsidised by the ACF so is completely free for participating artists and arts organisations.

There will be three skills development workshops delivered over Crowdcast:

  • Workshop 1#: Compliance and Governance – 11th of March – register here
  • Workshop 2#: Finance – 25th of March – register here
  • Workshop 3#: Branding and Communication – 8th of April – register here

We are also offering 120 coaching sessions with advisors from Creative Plus Business to artists and organisations. These coaching sessions will be one-on-one and an opportunity to receive tailored advice in the areas of finance, compliance and governance, and branding to support their fundraising capability.

To take part in the online workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions, participants must have a current fundraising campaign on the ACF or have previously run a fundraising campaign on the ACF. What is Skills Lab? 

The Australian Cultural Fund (ACF) have partnered with Creative Plus Business to offer Skills Lab. Skills Lab is a pilot professional development program for artists and organisations who have fundraised through the ACF to access targeted skills development in finance, compliance and governance, and branding. 

Skills development webinars will be delivered over Crowdcast. In addition to online workshops, we’re offering 120 artists and organisations to meet with an advisor from Creative Plus Business for a one-on-one consultation to receive advice in the areas of finance, compliance and governance, and branding to support their fundraising capability.  

 

Who is eligible for Skills Lab?     

To be eligible to attend the workshops, participants must have an ACF profile. To be eligible to participate in the one-on-one coaching, participants must have a current fundraising campaign on the ACF, or have previously run a fundraising campaign on the ACF.    

 

What are the pre-requisites for Skills Lab? 

No prior knowledge is required. Those starting out in their creative practice are welcome to join. 

 

How much does Skills Lab cost?    

The online workshops and one-to-one consultations are completely free of charge.  

 

How are the webinars delivered? 

The webinars will be delivered over Crowdcast with Closed Captions. Please contact Creative Plus Business if you have additional access needs.

Who will facilitate the webinars? 

The webinars will be facilitated by Creative Plus Business.  

Creative Plus Business is a national social enterprise dedicated to helping creative practitioners and arts professionals develop their entrepreneurial skills. The offerings of Creative Plus Business come from a strong foundation built on their pedagogical approach of peer designed, peer led, peer learning. The team have years of accumulated experience in creative practice, arts business, legal matters, governance, marketing and communications. 

 

Do I have to attend a webinar in order to register for a one-on-one consultation? 

No, however attending a webinar is highly encouraged.  

 

I am part of an organisation that fundraised on the ACF but I want to register for Skills Lab as an individual. Can I apply? 

Yes, you can list the name of your organisation and the campaign name 

 

Can multiple people from my team register for the Skills Lab webinars?  

Yes, more than one person from your organisation/team are able to register and attend the Skills Lab webinars.
