NYCA is a nationally-auditioned SATB chamber choir for singers aged 18-26 years. Australia’s only truly national youth choir, it draws its membership from all States and Territories and brings together many of Australia’s best young choral singers.
It meets at least once annually in an Australian city for an intensive workshop culminating in a series of public concerts. NYCA performs a broad repertoire with a strong commitment to contemporary Australian choral music repertoire.
NYCA’s 2017 workshop will be held at Emmanuel College, Brisbane, from 2 – 9 July. The Season conductor Carl Crossin OAM will lead an intensive workshop and rehearsal program, culminating in a series of concerts in Toowoomba, Ipswich and Brisbane. The concert program will draw from works by Antognini, Stanhope, Miskinis, Gjeilo and many more including entries from NYCA’s inaugural Ralph Morton Composition Competition.
