Marsha Emerman is a documentary filmmaker specialising in films on the arts, human rights, and social issues. She is passionate about telling stories that challenge misconceptions and open dialogue.
“Children of the Crocodile”, her film on East Timor, aired on SBS, screened in festivals worldwide, and won an Audience Award for Best Documentary in Toronto. “On the Banks of the Tigris” reflects her keen interest in music, history and cultural identity.
Marsha has an MA in Cinema from San Francisco State University and lectures at universities in Australia and the USA. . She has a long affiliation with the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne where she teaches documentary in the Masters in Film & TV course.
