Jill Sampson is a visual artist, Bimblebox Art Project coordinator and the curator of Bimblebox 153 Birds. Sampson’s work explores the land, stories, place and the changes and challenges of our environment. A lifelong engagement with her family’s farm in rural Queensland shapes her work. Sampson’s installations are embedded in the experience of bushland, layered with personal histories and fed by her deep connection to the land.
Sampson has been artist in residence at Stewart House, Sydney and the Pata Paris residency, France. Her work has been selected into various art prizes, has toured nationally and has been featured in Imprint , Artlink & Textile fibre forum.
