Ema Rose Gosnell is a classically trained Mezzo-soprano from Perth WA. A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), she is currently studying with Dr Fiona McAndrew in preparation for the Master of Music in Performance (Vocal Studies and Opera) at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK September 2019.
Whilst at WAAPA, she participated in the 2016 and 2017 WAAPA International Art Song Academies and has worked with international teachers, including Dr Graham Johnson, Dame Felicity Lott, Lynne Dawson, Gregory Yurisich, Neil Semer, Tarryn Fiebig, and Deborah Birnbaum.
In her final year at WAAPA, Ema Rose was the recipient of the Dame Mary Gilmore Award for most promising overall final year female student and was invited to sing for both the U.S. Consulate and the Western Australian Government in 2017 and 2018. Her role highlights include Florence Pike in Albert Herring (2016), and most recently Prince Charmant in Massenet’s Cendrillon (2018) under the direction of Thomas de Mallet Burgess.
In 2018 she made her Opera Lovers WA, Music Amica, and Art Song Perth recital debuts, and in 2019 was the Alto soloist in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth WA.
Ema is excited to announce she will be attending the RNCM supported as an ABRSM International Scholar.
