…has enjoyed a great start to a promising career as a professional composer of art/concert music. He completed his Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, receiving several encouraging awards along the way, such as the Alan Lane and A.G. Francis prizes for his compositions, as well as several academic awards.
In 2011, Chris was given the privilege to attended the International Youth Leadership Forum in Prague with full sponsorship from Griffith University’s ‘Honours College’, where he gained a greater appreciation for the value of community leadership and contribution in a global context.
Chris returned to study in 2013 and has now also completed an Honours Year at the University of Queensland, being award First Class Honours. He will be commencing a PhD in Composition in April, 2015.
Chris’ music has been played throughout Australia and by a variety of ensembles. Despite his young age, some of his works such as “Myths” (for Timpani and Percussion) are consider by some to be ‘Major contributions’ to the repertoire.
