Cassandra Wright

Cassandra Wright is a Brisbane soprano who holds a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours from the Queensland Conservatorium and the University Medal for academic achievement. At the Conservatorium, Cassandra was awarded the Linda Edith Allen Postgraduate Singing Award, Elizabeth Muir Prize and the Margaret Nickson Prize.

Cassandra’s operatic roles include Manon (Manon), Lisette (La Rondine) and La Fée (Cendrillon), La Bergere/La Chouette (L’enfant et les sortileges) and Veronica (understudy) in the Australian Premiere of Dry River Run.

With a strong interest in oratorio, Cassandra recently performed the soprano solo in Haydn’s Nelsen Mass as well as Bach’s Magnificat, Charpentier’s Te Deum and Handel’s Dixit Dominus. In 2018 she was the soloist with The Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Planet Earth Live concert. She also performs regularly with the internationally-acclaimed group, The 7 Sopranos.

In 2018, Cassandra was the winner of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Aria Competition where she received the People’s Choice Award. She has also won the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition in 2016.
