“This was a masterclass in non-verbal communication” – Limelight

“The ensemble, each a soloist and an individual in their own right, performed this substantial programme with empathy, technical ease and exemplary musicianship”

Australia Piano Quartet (APQ) has established a reputation as Sydney’s premiere chamber music ambassadors. In 2015, Rebecca Chan, Thomas Rann and James Wannan are delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed pianist Daniel de Borah as a member of the ensemble.

In May 2015 APQ embarks on its first European Tour, performing at London’s Barbican Centre and the Australian Embassy in Paris. APQ is also the only Australian chamber ensemble being presented by the Sydney Opera House, and is presented as part of the Local Heroes Series at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

The group has been fostered within the dynamic creative environment of University of Technology as its Ensemble in Residence since 2011. In 2015 APQ will curate six projects that forge cross-departmental conversations. Through the commissioning of innovative new works by seven Australian composers and intensive engagement with UTS departments, APQ seeks to be a potent and forward-looking creative force in Australia’s cultural landscape.
